Often
the factors that impede educational achievement for primary and secondary
students lie beyond the schoolhouse door. Educational leaders, no matter
how adept, can be frustrated if these factors are not addressed. Educational
leaders, in most parts of the world, are influential members of their
local, regional, and national communities, who, when empowered to do so,
can ameliorate local impediments to children's educational achievement.
THE PROBLEM
Local educational leaders often are isolated individuals who lack the
knowledge of what's possible, what's worked elsewhere, why and how. They
need local support to make any change viable, and international support
to implement effective solutions. No international coordinating organization
exists for this purpose.
THE MISSION
Education in most countries around the world is a vital means for individual
success and social, political and economic development. The purpose of
the Center is to improve education and promote national development by
supporting local teams of educational leaders.
